Der Gitarrist hat sich mit nur zwei großen Veröffentlichungen an der Seite von Ozzy Osbourne einen Namen gemacht. Er spielte die E-Gitarre bei Blizzard of Ozz und Diary of a Madman und kam leider bei einem Flugzeugabsturz 1982 ums Leben. Und so richtig konnte keiner seinen Platz einnehmen.

Ozzy sagt zu dem Vorfall bei Instagram:

Hollywood, CA (the school where Randy Rhoads famously taught guitar) was viciously robbed on Thanksgiving night … “Musonia was run by Randy’s late mother, Delores, and after his death 37 years ago, the school became something of a pilgrimage to his fans from all over the world. It is a place where the Rhoads Family happily opened their hearts to share the life of Randy. As you can imagine, the items that were stolen, including Randy’s first electric guitar, are irreplaceable to the Rhoads Family.”

Sicherlich eine schlimme Nachricht für die Familie.

Gestohlenes Equipment

Neben Randys erster E-Gitarre, einer 1963 Harmony Rocket, wurde ebenso ein rarer Marshall Prototyp entwendet, der speziell für Rhoads gefertigt wurde. Dazu kommt eine Trompete aus der Zeit der Great Depression bzw. Wirtschaftskrise, die dem Urgroßvater von Randy gehörte.

Ort des Geschehens war die Musonia Musikschule, die von Randys Mutter 1948 gegründet wurde, er selbst hat dort bis zuletzt Gitarre unterrichtet. Sein Bruder unterrichtet dort immer noch Klavier, Drums und Gitarre. Find ich dufte.

This subsequently sparked Delores Rhoads long lived music career. · 40 years of fan gifts to the Rhoads Family, memorabilia, all photos of Randy Rhoads, the Osbournes, Delores Rhoads, and miscellaneous instruments were taken. Krönung der Scheißigkeit

Manchmal lässt es der Lebensumstand nicht anders zu und man sieht für sein Überleben keine andere Chance als kriminell zu werden. Aber ein Einbruch in einer Musikschule ist für mich eine Grenzüberschreitung zu viel – so etwas passiert nicht aus der Not, sondern mit Planung und weil auf dem Schwarzmarkt vermutlich viel Geld dafür gezahlt wird.

Vielleicht ist Equipment einer Gitarrenlegende in einer Musikschule für manche Menschen gedanklich fehl am Platz – wenn das der Wunsch der Hinterbliebenen im Ansinnen an den Verstorbenen war, dann ist das so hinzunehmen. Dann verstaubt es nicht im Keller eines Sammlers oder noch schlimmer, jetzt wohl ungesehen im Versteck, weil es ja Hehlerware ist, sondern wird gespielt.

Wenn du also einen Hinweis in deiner Umgebung findest (was vermutlich eher unwahrscheinlich ist), dann kauf es nicht, sondern gib lieber Ozzy Bescheid. Oder der Polizei.

Gefunden

Auch wenn einige Sachen in einem Müllcontainer gefunden wurden, stehen noch 25000 USD Belohnung im Raum, die Ozzy Osbourne dem entscheidenden Hinweisgeber zahlen will. Also: Augen auf beim Equipmentkauf.
